Anybody unable to save up for the base version of Tesla’s Model 3 should, perhaps, take a closer look at the Tesla of the skateboarding world. It is this nickname that the founders of startup enterprise Inboard Technology have given themselves. In only three years, they have been able to, not only develop a prototype of the most sophisticated and modern electrical board, but also obtain half a million dollars from a Kickstarter campaign to realize their dream and vision for this product.
This funding was sufficient enough for the development of this prototype, but for little more beyond. When this particular money supply ran dry, the founders of Inboard Technology were able to attract another $8 million of investment that has definitively served in enabling them to create the most sophisticated and innovative electric skateboard.
The funding received has already been deployed in the launch of the development of the M1 model, the retail price of which is $1,400. For this price, the board will be able to carry its rider at speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour for short distances up to 11 kilometers. Small, uphill inclines of up to 20 degrees do not hinder the board, and its power allows it to effortlessly continue its surfing glide.
With the addition of replaceable batteries, a fully-waterproof board body and frequent updates available for the board’s software, this truly is one of the coolest toys we’ve seen in recent times and, while everyone is left standing in that mile-long queue for public transport, or glued to that same traffic jam, this skateboard will have riders sailing swiftly and merrily by.
I want one!
