The delivery time for Russians wishing to purchase the topline, 4k variant of Apple TV has now increased to 4-6 weeks. This follows a statement from the company’s official online store of the company, and is a situation observed in Apple’s online stores the word over. The basic, non-4k version, has a delivery time of a mere 1-3 days, by comparison.
Often, increases in delivery times of a product can signal signs of an earlier-than-anticipated update, but this unlikely to be the case in this instance, with the 4k version only having seen its release in September of this year. It is possible that a shortage has occurred from seemingly out of the blue, due to Apple’s forced change of suppliers for some of the console’s peripherals, and said suppliers own constraints and capacity.
Analysis of Apple’s online retail operation have shown that similar delays are being experienced across several continents, with Europe, North America and Australasia all subject to a January 2018 wait for the 64 GB variant. is promised to deliver no earlier than January. To receive a prefix on the same day at the moment it is possible only at resellers.
The prefix Apple TV 4K was presented during a September unveiling, together with the iPhone X. Much fuss was made about its A10X Fusion processor and, as the name implies, support for Ultra HD and 4K HDR formats. To ensure the device’s stable and unaffected operation, it is equipped with an onboard fan to prevent it from over-heating.
